چکیده

Applications of dicambaherbicide to dicamba-resistant (DR) soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] and cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) may increase the risks non-DR exposure dicamba. Dicamba residue in sprayers poses a challenge for applicators that also treat soybean. Risks producers as planted acreage usage DR crops increases, there is potential volatilization herbicide summer months, posing risk nearby producers. There has been widespread speculation low-dose dicamba sensitive elicit positive response yield or components crop. Therefore, experiments were conducted 2018 2019 assess ability cause hormetic on at 0.000008, 0.0000125, 0.000025, 0.00005, 0.0001 lb a.i. acre–1 was applied V3 stage along with nontreated control. Similar treatments R1 second experiment. In 2018, 4 out 60 treatment means across six parameters had over control, although no detected. 2019, 11 same displayed decrease subsequently reduced grain yield. The degree auxin symptoms varied between site–years did not consistently display compensatory effects. Overall, findings led conclusion sublethal doses increased

Transcriptome response to glyphosate in sensitive and resistant soybean.

The majority of soybeans planted in the United States are resistant to glyphosate due to introduction of a gene encoding for a glyphosate-insensitive 5-enolypyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase. Gene expression profiling was conducted using cDNA microarrays to address questions related to potential secondary effects of glyphosate. When glyphosate-sensitive plants were treated with glyphosate, ...

Hormetic response of cholinesterase from Daphnia magna in chronic exposure to triazophos and chlorpyrifos.

In vivo activity of cholinesterase (ChE) in Daphnia magna was measured at different time points during 21-day exposure to triazophos and chlorpyrifos ranging from 0.05 to 2.50 microg/L and 0.01 to 2.00 microg/L, respectively. For exposure to triazophos, ChE was induced up to 176.5% at 1.5 microg/L and day 10 when measured by acetylthiocholine (ATCh), whereas it was induced up to 174.2% at 0.5 m...

Does hyperventilation elicit epileptic seizures?

PURPOSE Voluntary hyperventilation has been advocated for many decades as an "activating" procedure to provoke clinical seizures and epileptiform discharges in subjects with suspected epilepsy who undergo standard EEG recordings. This study was undertaken to determine the effects of hyperventilation in patients with proven epilepsy. METHODS We examined the records of 433 consecutive patients ...
